Common new year's resolutions: lose weight, get a haircut, quit smoking, get a job, tour Europe. Death Cab for Cutie are planning on doing at least one of these things in early 2006, despite the fact that this is the new year, and they don't feel any different.

In February, Ben Gibbard & co. will trade Orange Country in for the cultured foreign lifestyle most emo kids only dream of. Before they head off on the European trek, however, Death Cab will wrap up the old year in America with a couple of radio station 'Ho-fest performances, as well as a slot at Los Angeles' Giant Village Festival on December 31. Other relevant performers at this New Year's Eve extravaganza include the Flaming Lips, Junior Senior, Z-Trip, and, um, the Black Eyed Peas.
