Jeff Tweedy Announces Solo Tour

Now that Jeff Tweedy is done kicking television, it's time for him to hit the stage. Mr. Wilco will embark on a short solo tour in early 2006, which will take him to Canada and down the West Coast.

In addition to this short string of dates, the full Wilco is scheduled to play the Langerado Music Festival in March in Florida. As previously reported, the Flaming Lips, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and a bunch of hippie bands will also perform.

Kick it:

01-31 Vancouver, British Columbia - Commodore Ballroom
02-02 Seattle, WA - Moore Theatre
02-03 Portland, OR - Crystal Ballroom
02-04 Eugene, OR - McDonald Theater
02-06 Arcata, CA - Humboldt State University
02-08 San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore
02-09 San Francisco, CA - The Fillmore
02-11 San Diego, CA - Spreckels Theatre
02-12 Los Angeles, CA - Henry Fonda Theater
03-12 Sunrise, FL - Langerado Music Festival

In other news, Tweedy played a set last night at Chicago's Second City's fourth annual "The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa" benefit, a 24-hour improvisation with proceeds going toward holiday presents for needy children. Today, Tweedy's grade-school-aged son, Spencer, will play "Letters to Santa" with his band the Blisters, raising money for things more important than Quaker Oatmeal's cute ad campaign.

Lastly, we thought you might need a quick reminder that Tweedy, along with Wilco's John Stirratt and Glenn Kotche, are lending a hand on the Minus 5's new self-titled record. The band plays on "With a Gun" and "Hotel Senator". Up with Wilco!
