Cam'ron Shot in Carjacking Attempt
Harlem rapper/entrepreneur Cam'ron (birth name: Cameron Giles) found himself at the doorstep of deification early Sunday morning, when he sustained gunshot wounds as the result of a botched carjacking in Washington DC. According to various news sources, Killa Cam was stopped at a red light around midnight when three men approached his blue Lamborghini and demanded that Cam relinquish his car. The MC refused and began to drive away, causing the men to fire multiple shots into the car, striking Cam once in each arm.
The official website of Cam'ron's crew, the Diplomats, reports that Cam drove himself to nearby Howard University Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. Manager Joseph Sherman is quoted as saying, "Cam'ron will be just fine. He's in good spirits. He's cracking jokes and is expected to be released shortly. He even asked the nurse for her phone number when he woke up."
Cam'ron was in D.C. for Howard University's homecoming weekend, where he was promoting his new movie and album, both called Killa Season, and due for release on February 14, 2006. Happy Valentine's Day (no homo).
If all this talk of carjackings and stuff has got you down, Pitchfork suggests watching the Killa Season trailer as a pick-me-up.
