Atlas Sound Bonus Tracks Coming to U.S. Vinyl
As grand as Atlas Sound's Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel is, American listeners to Bradford Cox's solo debut were at a slight disadvantage compared to their European counterparts. The album has been available on CD from Kranky since late January on these shores, but the European version, released by 4AD in May, came bolstered with a whole bonus disc of extra tracks.
Those extra tracks will finally be available in America when Kranky releases Let the Blind on vinyl on July 28. For your coin, you'll not only get the 14 tracks that garnered Let the Blind a Best New Music nod earlier this year, but you'll become the proud owner of "Another Bedroom", "It Rained", "Stained Glass Swan", "Abandoned Closet", "Spring Break", and "ABC Glasgow". Worth holding off on those new kicks, I'd say.
As for Cox's other band, Deerhunter, they're laying low before gearing up for a little trek with Trent and company in late summer. In the meantime, Atlas Sound have a handful of shows lined up in July. The first? Why, it's the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.
