New Music: Justin and Alan: "LIDL REBL" (produced by Lily Allen)
Lily Allen makes her producing debut on this track from UK duo Joseph and Alan. But don't worry, Allen hasn't suddenly decided she wants to be Phil Spector-- "LIDL REBEL" is a bouncy comic tune that takes Allen's laid-back Caribbean bounce to bizarre extremes beneath rapidly sung comedy lyrics. "It's got Christmas Number One all over it," the duo observe on their MySpace, and the track certainly has the elements of the annoying novelty singles that drive parents crazy after all the presents are opened. "Moves, moves, I've got moves," Joseph and Alan croak in high-pitched voices over chintzy keyboards. They also have hives, so they say.
