Video: Menomena: "Wet and Rusting"
The men of Menomena have good senses of humor. Their video, which premiered on MTV's Subterranean blog (psst, MTV...it's "Wet and Rusting" not "Rusted"), seems like it will be a straightforward performance clip...until the Grim Reaper comes to the door. From there, the band members begin making final wishes and preparing for death-- planning a farewell tour in a zeppelin, getting Kanye West to produce their last album, organ donation-- and the long instrumental portions of the song give the band plenty of space in which to goof around.
The clip was helmed by longtime indie fixture Lance Bangs, who has directed videos for Pavement, Sonic Youth, the Arcade Fire, the Shins, Belle & Sebastian, and Death Cab For Cutie, among others.
